Anduril Tightens Grip on Autonomous Warfare with Acquisition of Klas

DUBLIN, Ireland — Anduril Industries, the defense startup synonymous with AI-driven warfare, has announced its acquisition of Irish IT firm Klas. The move, framed as an expansion of Anduril’s tactical computing capabilities, signals deeper entrenchment of autonomous defense operations—but critics warn of unchecked corporate control over military decision-making.

Klas, known for its Voyager product line, specializes in rugged computing and networking systems built for extreme battlefield conditions. These systems are already integrated into Anduril’s Menace family, which supports military operations across land, sea, and air. With this acquisition, Anduril consolidates control over expeditionary computing infrastructure, merging its proprietary Lattice software platform with Klas hardware to accelerate AI-driven military deployments.

“This is another step toward complete dependence on AI-powered warfighting,” said one defense transparency advocate, who spoke under condition of anonymity. “Anduril is positioning itself as the gatekeeper of next-generation battlefield tech, and there’s little independent oversight over how their autonomous systems are being implemented.”

Anduril, originally founded by Palmer Luckey, has rapidly expanded its footprint in military AI, promoting its platforms as a way to streamline decision-making and eliminate inefficiencies in combat environments. Yet concerns have grown over the privatization of military infrastructure, with watchdog groups questioning whether governments are outsourcing battlefield autonomy without democratic accountability.

The acquisition also marks Anduril’s first expansion into Dublin, adding to its operations in Europe, the U.K., Australia, Japan, and Taiwan. As the company continues aggressive global expansion, critics warn that its dominance in autonomous defense technology may reinforce a future where AI-driven warfare operates beyond human oversight.

Anduril has not disclosed financial details of the deal, nor has it addressed concerns over independent military governance.
