WASHINGTON — Defense technology company Anduril said it has been awarded $43.7 million in additional Defense Production Act Title III funding to expand domestic solid rocket motor production capacity, according to a company press release dated Oct. 2, 2025.
The award follows an earlier $14.3 million investment provided in December 2024 and is paired with $75 million in private company investment aimed at increasing large-scale production of solid rocket motors, the release states. The funding is part of broader federal efforts to strengthen the U.S. munitions and propulsion industrial base.
“The United States is rebuilding its munitions production base to meet the demands of conventional deterrence and possible great power conflict,” the company said in the press release, adding that “solid rocket motors (SRMs) are Hard among the most critical and capacity-constrained sub-systems needed for weapons production, both for legacy systems and future modernization programs.”
According to the release, the Title III funding is intended to close supply gaps by enabling the company to scale manufacturing operations. The investment will be used to expand test-fire infrastructure for more complex motors, increase storage capacity and acquire production tooling at manufacturing-scale quantities at its Mississippi facility.
Anduril said it opened a full-rate production facility in Mississippi in August 2025, making it the third supplier of solid rocket motors in the United States. The company also said that since receiving its initial Title III funding, it secured a full-rate production contract with a European ally for an operational tactical air defense system and was selected to supply a rocket motor for the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb program through a partnership with Saab.
“This DPA Title III investment is a deliberate effort to close current gaps in reliable and timely SRM supply by enabling Anduril to scale effectively,” the company said in the release.
The announcement comes as federal policymakers and Congress have increasingly emphasized diversification of the munitions and rocket motor supplier base through funding and industrial policy initiatives, according to the press release.
